The Perfect Shot by TEAM RNE

You will never hear a Bride & Groom say, "These pictures are great! But we could have gone without these wedding photos."

Yes, those post-ceremony photos may be exhausting, but in the end they give us those "aww" moments that made them worth it!

While many future Mr. & Mrs. primarily look for price when booking a wedding photographer, as coordinators, we highly emphasize style & value over cost.

Style & Value can become more of an investment than anticipated, but can overall become the greatest investment of your entire wedding! Throughout your ceremony & reception you may not get the chance to stop and take in all the details of your big day! Those peonies you spent an entire Saturday slaving over? You probably spent a good minute admiring them before Aunt Helen pulled you into another family photo! The focus being, having great detail shots & photos allow you to take time post-wedding to admire details you probably missed on the day of. (Thanks Aunt Helen!)

Apart from detail shots, wedding photos are a H U G E addition to any wedding theme or style. Many Brides & Grooms aren't aware of the various photography styles they have at their disposal!

Vintage    Natural (Lighting)    Editorial     Props     Destination   Old Hollywood

The list goes on & on, but the important thing is: OPTIONS!

We love options & try to make sure they don't overwhelm our couple but emphasize how this is just another step in making their day truly memorable!

"We just want crisp & clean photos of our wedding." - A common phrase we hear from our future Mr. & Mrs. (Cue, the endless wedding photo samples) It's at this point we notice they do in fact have a distinct vision or vibe they want to convey through their photos.

"We love that pose!" "Oh, no we don't like that." "Oh, that's an amazing shot."

Shop around. Take a few Saturdays & sit down with your potential photographer. Ask them about their style, where they typically shoot & if they have any photography samples. (If they don't, they may simply be starting their business & is something to take into consideration.)

Every photographer has a niche, a style they either enjoy photographing or prefer to work with. Spending an hour or so, over a cup of coffee, will give you the opportunity to create that relationship with your photographer that will allow you to create the exact look & feel you want for your photos.

So to showcase some of our favorite wedding styles we've created "Photography Boards" below to help you narrow down your favorite wedding photography style!

*As a side note: May times these styles may often overlap, which simply means you can customize the style to make it uniquely-you!*

While "vintage" can range from anything between hipster to 1920s inspired, we've narrowed it down to a simple adjective "Filtered". Whether your photographer edited post-shoot or is crafty with the settings, these photos process with an airy- light feel.

Old- Hollywood

Now, this style may not require much description but for the sake of being thorough. The Old-Hollywood style is not only shot in black & white or sepia tones, but can simply emphasize that classic glamour & drama.

Just as the name suggests, these photos offer magazine style poses & photography aesthetics. Think Brides Magazine shoot or The Knot cover photos. This style offers those crisp, clean images that most Brides & Grooms nowadays flock to!

"Natural" lighting involves how the photographer utilizes the natural & surrounding light. These images typically create a lighter feel & allows for a more natural pose. Nowadays, this niche lends itself to "Natural-themed" weddings as well.

If you are planning an evening ceremony, this is a must! Night photography has a whole new list of elements that day-time does not include. Some photographers specialize in this type of photography & nothing is worse than having photos that are"too dark" to see any detail. *Not all photographers have perfected that sparkler circle & best to let them know you want that shot ahead of time!*

As you can tell, we can go on & on about how important it is to not only identify the photo-style you wish to incorporate into your wedding, but also specific shots you want taken. Speaking to your photographer, getting to know their style & giving them a heads up on specific shots you want is a great way to start your wedding photography journey!

Just remember!

At the end of the day, That album is going to be so amazing!

Love Is Brewing by TEAM RNE

From Starbucks Frappuccino loyalists to Coffee Aficionados, there is one universal truth.

Coffee brings people together.

If you sit in any coffee shop for long enough, you will find them. The couple too enthralled in each other to find a second to take a sip. He absent mindlessly stirs the coffee he has neglected, while she nervously attempts to warm her fingers around the coffee she too failed to drink while warm. Small talk turns into life ambitions, and as their talks become deeper so does the space between them. They don't realize the commotion around them and the small enough table becomes too large as they lean in to better hear the other. Is this their first date? or maybe their third? Did they meet here? Or Have they been friends for years? The couple living proof, it's not about the coffee, but the people it brings together.

Friendships are formed, business deals created and love all have one thing in common. They were most likely created around a warm cup of coffee.

What better way to celebrate love than incorporating it into your big day!

We found some awesome wedding day (Or even bridal shower) ideas such as:

  • Coffee stained invitations
  • Coffee filter flowers
  • Coffee bean wedding favors
  • Personalized coffee sleeves
  • Coffee stations

and our personal Favorite

  • Latte Art designers, creating coffee art for your guests!

We don't expect to see any coffee bridal bouquets or coffee wedding dresses. (Unless you have found them and we'd love to see those, please & thank you!)

But seeing unique and note-worthy wedding themes is what makes our days so much more entertaining!

We not only love our coffee *we are not the aficionados* (even if we are currently enjoying a cup at our second office aka local coffee spot), but we love how it brings people together in romantic & non-romantic ways!

A coffee themed wedding fits perfect with most themes and brings an air of rustic-antique feel with a side of that modern hipster flare!

We designed a "coffee" themed wedding with our Frappuccino & Aficionados in mind! Whether you go all out or just incorporate small details, we know you'll love the inspiration board we created below!

Come Away With Me by TEAM RNE

A beautiful ballgown, floral arrangements that seem to reach the ceiling providing the most magnificent natural decor any florist has to offer, the air of romance and anticipation that keeps the guests from sitting still as they wait for the ceremony to begin. Unsteady eyes take in the room that has seen centuries of life and holds history within its walls. The groom takes his place and as the music begins everyone is transported into a fairytale that only has one ending. Love.

Now, am I describing a Disney fairytale or something a bit more practical.

Brides & Grooms are keeping the destination wedding love alive! Opting for smaller more intimate weddings, in a more exotic location, that came bring more than a location to the table: history.

Destination: Huntington Castle- County Carlow (Ireland)

ROCKNEVENTS immediately fell in love at first "site" and more importantly how photogenic this venue has proven itself to be! Photos are destination weddings biggest fans and are the best take-hold than any wedding favors. Modern brides, classic bride, or brides who want a little of both will fall in love with this venue and it's various onsite locations.

When you think of a destination wedding you may not immediately think Ireland. You most likely immediately imagined a beach in the Caribbean or a Hawaiian get-away, which we love and still can't get enough of! Although, some Brides & Grooms want to venture a little more north of the equator and find a little piece of home: cue the Huntington Castle slideshow. Who hasn't dreamed of running away and finding the love of your life in a completely unknown continent? Well, we're skipping the second step and going straight to the vows for this one! The beauty of castles is that romance is already included! The wow factor is something you don't have to create, just enhance with those amazing design ideas (aka Pinterest boards. We are right there with you!) you've had in mind since the day you said "YES!"

We'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but here are 3 quick tips for your travelers heart & wallet!

1. Research. Research. Research.

Finding a location is just the first step! Find inspiration photos of the location with and without a wedding set-up. This way you know how the venue will look when you walk-up as opposed to it all dolled up by someone else. Also, make sure the photos are up-to-date. There is nothing worse then booking a location and finding out half the venue will be under-construction and unusable on the day of!

2. Wedding Coordinators are not an option. They are your lifeline!

When you are a thousand miles away from your location, having a go-between is essential! They understand the industry and have experience in working with vendors in other countries! There are tax differences, fees, contracts, and an endless list of variables that you'll be thankful your coordinator will take care of!

3. Understand the distance and embrace it!

Unfortunately, like a typical wedding you can't just schedule a walk-through or a follow-up walk-through on a any random Tuesday. But that's why you fell in love with the destination wedding! This is your opportunity to really make a statement with your wedding, so embrace the distance and love every mile! Keep a photo with you, on your desk or on the fridge! Remind yourself why you fell in love with the location and how amazing your big day is going to be!

A wedding is obviously much more than a venue, so we created a "Castle-worthy" destination wedding inspiration board below to feed your inner traveler and inspire one of the most important days in your life!

*Castle photos following are not all Huntington Castle, simply inspiration*

Finding a wedding photographer is a big task in the wedding planning process. But. Finding a photographer who specializes in destination weddings is an MUST. They understand how to get those unique and scenic shots! They are experienced in dealing with unknown locations and will get those shots you imagined the first time you saw the venue!
